First SMASH page

Happy Thursday friends and welcome!

My little orange SMASH book, has been sitting there on the shelf, taunting me with it's beautiful empty pages.

So last night, I sat down at my cluttered and messy desk to do something, anything with at least half a page. Finally, I was able to dig in and scrap a page in my SMASH book.

I know you have seen this picture of my nieces but I love it and them so much.  I really wanted to get this one in my book.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Photo Booth Love

Happy Sunday my friends.

Hope you are having a wonderful crafty weekend.

I have been searching for inspiration anywhere I can find it.  My mojo is still on vacation so I'm hoping that re-creating layouts or sketches will help.  The more I craft, the mojo should come back, right?

As I was looking through the thousands of inspirational layouts at Scrapbook.com, I can across this layout I Freaking Love You by Jilliand.  Such a cute layout.

For my take on this, I used Scraps Of Darkness retired White Rabbit kit.  The photo of me and the kids, taken in 2008 at a pizzeria called Gattitown.

By the way, I love this flower from Zva Creative. Great color and large size.

Thank you for stopping by.

Come back tomorrow for a blog hop with Graphicat Sketches, "Grey Goes West".  There may even be giveaways and extra prizes for those who participate in the sketch challenge.

12 Tags of 2012 - July

Hello my friends and welcome.

This will be a short post to share my July tag for Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2012.  I did this over the weekend along with a few other projects but Tuesday brought on a migraine that will not go away.

So here is my take for July's 12 Tags of 2012.

Supplies: Ranger Craft tag; Tim Holtz - Alcohol Ink Red Pepper, word bands, muse tokens, snow cap dabber, distress stain picket fence, wire pins; Teresa Collins paper world traveler; seam ribbon; Bo Bunny star trinket; and shimmer paints Mama Sings the Blues.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Beachy Configuration...

Happy Tuesday my crafty friends.

Can you believe that it is the middle of July already?  Back to school supplies are starting to line the shelves and school registration is underway.

My daughter has been hounding me about getting her beach themed configuration completed, so this past weekend I was able to finish everything but the feet.

Sorry for the glare but it's been raining and overcast in my neck of the woods.  The photo is my son and daughter at the beach a few years back.  Some of the shells and shark tooth were souvenirs they received.

I have been working on some charms for a swap I'm in over the last few days and a couple of layouts as well.

I'm trying to get my room better organized and uncluttered.

Cupcake Birthday

So glad today is Friday!

Really looking forward to a nice quiet, relaxing weekend.  The kiddos are spending the weekend out of town and my Hubby is going on a fishing trip.  So it's just me, myself, and I for the weekend.  Hope my scrap room is ready for the workout I plan to give it.

Let's start with a birthday card I made for a friends little girl.

Love Peachy Keen Stamps little faces.  I used PKS Bugs (CC-PK4x6-002) with My Creative Time's Celebrate Good Times Cupcake die and sentiments to create this card. The paper to DCWV The Glitter Sweet matstack and the roses are My Creative Time's Rolled Flower Dies with Martha Stewart Crafts micro beads in the center.

Hope you enjoyed today's card. Thank you for stopping in.

Graphicat Sketch #12

Good morning friends!

My family and I are at the beach this weekend enjoying some fun family time in the sand and sun.

The image I used is one of my all time favorite TV shows, The Big Bang Theory.  Have you heard of it? I love Sheldon and his quirkiness...he is a little video of some of his best BAZINGA's.

Also here is a link to Urban Dictionary for a better definition of Bazinga.

Fun at the Beach

Happy Sunday friends.

Typing this post in my phone today from the Beach.

Friday was an interesting start to our vacation. The traveler trailer had two tires blow out and what should have been a four hour drive turned into eight. But we finally made it here and seeing the kiddos happy faces once we made it to the beach was worth it.

Happy Birthday Baby Boy...

Yesterday we celebrated our Baby Boy turning 7.

Watching him last night, I can not believe how fast time has speed by.

His choice of supper was IHOP (yummy), the Boy loves loves, I mean LOVES pancakes.  If allowed he would eat pancakes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack. Yes, he loves them that much.

Our waitress even brought him a little pre-dinner sundae and sang 'Happy Birthday' to him.

And this is him after Daddy shoved his face into the sundae...

LOL...he was not too happy about that.

He received some books and Star Wars Lego from sister.  New clothes, sandals and a hat from Grammy and Nonnie (Aunt).  And from us (after 2 years of asking and growing more responsible) he finally got his...

yep, a DS3 with Mario Cart 7. After that, he was ready to go home and play.

For his card, I used 'Force' image from Saturated Canary and paper from the Paper Studio Boys Will Be Boys collection.

The sentiment inside his card is from My Craft Spot Inside & Outside Set #2.

Happy Birthday to our Baby Boy!

Kidding Around

This summer my daughter wanted to do something...

That's what she said, "I want to do something this summer."

So the conversations went like this...
Me: What do you want to do?
DD: I don't know, something fun with art.
Me: (excitement building inside) Well, we can look around locally and see if there are any art camps, classes, etc... open this summer.
DD: OK, but I found something online that I want to do. Will that be OK?
Me: Ummm...depends on what it is about and what the cost is.
(she leaves room and comes back with computer)
DD: I want to do this...Kidding Around 3.

I little back ground on my dear daughter. She is nine and has had no interest in anything. While most kids enjoy doing something like playing outside, sports, music, art, etc... She seems to just not care. My husband and I were really getting concerned and even talked to a friend (she is an adolescent counselor) who said not to worry about DD. So we tried not to worry, much.

So these last few months, she finally started to show an interest in art. So I am trying my hardest not to push, seem to excited or drown her with my excitement that she is showing more than a passing interest in art.

So after a little research about the online class at Big Picture Classes, I said yes.

Kidding Around 3 taught by Tami Morrison is a summer memory-keeping experience for kids. The album used in the class and "the content of the class is designed to be compatible with the sky blue version of the Smash Journal, and the assignments coincide with specific pages."

With her permission, below is her first page.

Thank you for visiting today!

Summer Fun...

Happy Monday scrappers!

Hope everyone had a fun filled weekend.

Last week we started getting our camper and gear in order so we can head out to the beach this Friday for some much needed family beach/water time.  The temperatures here in Texas have been HOT HOT HOT, so being near or better yet in the water is relief from the heat.

Don't forget there is still time to enter the sketch #11 challenge at Graphicat Sketches.

Have a great Monday and I'll be back tomorrow with something crafty.

Until next time happy scrappin'! ~ Carol
