Christmas Card

Hello blogger friends!

Have you finished Christmas shopping? Are all your presents wrapping and waiting for Christmas morning? Are you ready for Christmas?

I am just about finished, still have two more gifts to purchase then I'm finished...finally.

I feel so behind this year, considering I am usually finished with everything except for the cooking but this time.  This year every holiday has crept up unbeknownst to me.  And it makes itself known when one my kiddos walks up and says, "Hey Mom, do you know it's only ___ days until (insert holiday)!!!"  YIKES, I get that deer in the headlight glare and inside my head I'm freaking out. "WHAT, ___ days until (insert holiday)?!?! Where have I been?"

But thankfully, today marks the start of my holiday vacation and hopefully my batteries will recharge to give me time to regroup for 2013.

Today I'm sharing the card that we sent out this year.  I used Teresa Collins Cricut Cartridge December 25th, deer cut at 2.5 inches.  I placed the deer cut on My Creative Time's XL label die.  I used the same die on the inside as well.  Both sentiments are from My Creative Time's From Our Family To Yours Stamp set. The outside sentiment is inked on My Creative Time's Curly label die.

The pattern paper is Echo Park's 12x12 Merry Christmas kit collection.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Until next time - happy scrappin'! ~ Carol

December Album Cover

Hello friends!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday.  I appreciate your comments and support!

I finally figured out how I wanted my December album cover and today I wish to share it you.

The album is Simple Stories SNaP red album. And with the help of ribbon from Hobby Lobby, doily from my stash, perfect pearls mist, my cricut and a few cover is  complete.

The 2012 button is from the 25 Days kit from Studio Calico.  I wish the sparkle and shin came out better in the picture.

I know it's pretty simple - but it still came together quit nicely.

Thank you again!

Until next time - happy scrappin'! ~ Carol

Guest Designer for Jaded Blossom Birthday Celebration

Hello and welcome Jaded Blossom friends!

So grab your favorite beverage and jump right in. Today I will be featuring Christmas Wishes and Snowman Poop.

I made two different ornaments for gifts using the Christmas Wishes Stamp set.  The first I used a ceramic ornament and stamped the tree and various sentiments on both sides.

The next ornament, I stamped the tree on both sides of Shrink-A-Dink white and placed inside a plastic ornament with tiny buttons and fake snow.  The ribbon and pine cones are from my stash.

Next I created a card, again using the Christmas Wishes Stamp Set.

For my last project, I made some Chex mix chow treats and using the Snowman Poop stamp set, created a topper for the bag. The snowman is from Creative Memories Cartridge 'Tis the Season and the tag is from Close To My Heart Cartridge Art Philosophy.

Hope you have been following along all month and continue to each day in December with a new Guest Designer each day and prizes.  Also, make sure you participate in the "Crafter's Choice" Monthly Challenge.

Thank you Candice and Michelle ~ Jaded Blossom! I had a wonderful time creating these projects with your amazing and versatile stamp sets.

Until next time - happy scrappin'! ~ Carol

Pinterest Snow Globes

Happy Monday blogger Friends!

Sorry I've been MIA - last week was finals for me so I concentrated on finishing my final research paper, which turned out to be the longest paper I have ever written. But the feeling of accomplishment was worth it.

But I digress, last year I found on pinterest the cute mason jar snow globes, everyone is wanting or has made and I knew this year I wanted to make my own.

The jars are from my own stash, the trees and little deer are from Hobby Lobby found with the Doll House products.

I glued the tree and deer to the lid.

Added some fake snow, again purchased from Hobby Lobby but you can find at Target and Walmart during the Christmas season.

Add a little ribbon for look and viola, my first snow globe.

By request, I am making a few more for family and friends.

Have you created any snow globes? Are you interested too?

Until next time - happy scrappin'! ~ Carol

Altered Picture Frame

Hey blogger friends!

Hope you are having a fabulous day!

Work is hosting a two day Secret Santa gift exchange with a very limited budget.  Of course I started looking around my craft room for ideas and came across a plain wood frame I had purchase months ago at half price at Hobby Lobby.

Using pattern paper from m stash, I started to create this altered picture frame.

I mixed yellow paint with Tim Holt's vintage photo distress ink and painter the back and edges of the frame, all areas not covered with paper.

About half way through the project, the light click above my head. Why not make it a 2013 Calendar? Co-worker can use it later for a picture frame, if she wishes.

I found the perfect size calendar, a freebie from At Studio D.

Add some flowers and Amy Tangerine numbers

More flowers, a banner and some pearls. And...

ta-da!  An altered picture frame/calender.

Hope you enjoyed today project.

Until next time - happy scrappin'! ~ Carol

Tree of Light

The first weekend in December, it has become a family tradition to bundle up and head to our local Christmas festival.

However, this year bundling was not required since summer has decided to stick around here in Texas. But that didnt stop us from heading out to Sights & Sounds for our annual visit to "Little Town of Bethlaham", harm buttery camp fire biscuits, and finger licking yumminess called funnel cakes.

This year we had my sister's kids with us and we all had a fabulous time running into old friends and getting into the holiday spirit.

Here is the light tree, the bottom is far enough off the ground that anyone can walk under.  It's is so beautiful and bright at night, this photo does not do it justice.

This layout is based on Elle's Studio Thursday 12.06 sketch.

The background paper is Karen Foster from many Christmas' ago.  Snowflakes paper is My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland.  A few of the tags and tidbits are from Elle's Studio and a few are from a class I'm taking at Studio Calico, 25 Days.

Here is a closer look. of the tree and products used.
