Art and Thank you card

Hello to all my fabulous blogger friends and welcome newbies!

I am so excited about this post because today I get to show off my daughter's art work that was selected for display at our local Performing Arts Center for Youth Art Month.  Art work from five students from each grade level at each school (except high school) were chosen.  I am so excited and proud that my daughter's art was selected and last night I finally got to see what she created.

But first I wanted to share a Thank You card I created for one special lady I meet here in blog-land.

I used an array of supplies for this card - Tim Holtz,  Colorbok, Ranger Dabber, Glitz Design Stamp, Cartridge Accent Essentials, Cartridge SweetHeart, Maya Mist, the Paper Studio and Walnut Antiquing Solution Ink

Again, thank you Steff for hosting the tag swap!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE.........................

So without further ado....'Dance' by my daughter (grade 3)

So what do you think?  I know, I know she did a fabulous job!! I can not even begin to describe how proud I am of her to create this. FABULOUS!!!

Thank you for stopping in and reading!

Until next time - happy scrappin'! ~ Carol

Eclipse premier

TGIF! Hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend! I know I am, my sister and her family are coming home for the weekend (it's her birthday) and I can not wait for her to see what I have been working on for her!

I did two simply layouts a while ago, I was inspired by a challenge (missed the deadline) at Crafty Twilight Mom ~thank you Kel~.

The pictures on the first layout is from the night the movie, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse premiered. That was a very fun night and we (me, my younger sister & Mom) all had a great time. I even won the Eclipse t-shirt pictured for answering a trivia question from the movie, Twilight.  Trivia question:  In the movie Twilight, when we see Edward Cullen for the first time (cafeteria scene), who is singing in the music that is playing? Yes, I know the answer and yes I know I might be, have AM slightly addicted obsessed with the Twilight Saga. LOL

The next layout is a few days later, My younger sister and I took our daughters (same age) to see the movie.  They here a hoot to watch, especially when Jacob came on screen for the first time...shirtless of course.  Awww to be that young again.  There were lots of giggling and whispering from the two of them.  But we had a fabulous girls day.

The Lion and the gift...

Welcome to all my fabulous new blogger friends, I look forward to getting to know you all and I welcome any comments and/or tips and tricks.

It has been crazy busy around my house with little league baseball, school and work, but I have found the time for a few cards and a couple of layouts. Also I received a wonderful PIF (pay it forward) gift from Kim B. at A Gypsy Angel (see below picture).

Isn't this just the cutest little notebook.  Fits in the palm of my hand, even better, my purse.  Thank you Kim for the wonderful gift.

Next is a card I made for the CWC-22 Lions and Lamb Challenge.

I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I did making it.

Oh yes, also...at my children's school (K-5th grade) it is Youth Art Month and a few pieces of the art work is chosen from each grade level for display at our local Performing Arts Center and...my daughter's (3rd grade) art work was chosen to be one of pieces.  Needless to say I am one very very proud momma! I will post pictures as soon as I can.

Mini Album #2

Hello to all my fabulous friends.

I am making a toilet paper roll mini album for my daughter for when we went to a Miley Cyrus concert back in 2009.  I know, I have been such a slacker with my scrapbooking but it's a work in-progress to catch up.

This is the cover, not whole lot of embellishments, I just want her to have something to remember the experience.  I will post updated pictures once the album is completed.

Seeing Green...

Happy Friday! I am so ready for the weekend. Aren't you?

When I started this card, I thought green, sure no problem. (right) As I am shifting through my supplies, I increasingly became aware that I do not have embellishments that are green except for a few buttons. So luckly I had green ink from Stampin' Up and the lettuce dabber from Adirondack - Ranger Ink.

This is the end result...hope you like it.  It turned out better than I thought it would.

Recipe
April Pixie: Pixie Dust Studio
Buttons & Brads: the Paper Studio
Fiskers Punch
Cuttlebug (ink: Green Galore from Stampin' Up)
Flower: Prima (painted w/Lettuce Adirondack dabber from Ranger Ink)

Thank U.....

First, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has decided to follow me on this crazy crafty ride.

I have been trying and trying to expand my knowledge of my cricut without waisting all my paper (LOL) in the process. Here is a Thank U card using mainly the Give A Hoot cartridge I won.

Still don't know what to really do for the inside so I just stamp the image.

I am entering this card in the following:
My Pink Stamper - Feathered Friend Challenge
Kleirrs Kreation - National Craft Month

Thank you again to all my fabulous followers! When we make to 100 followers I have a giveaway.

Until next time, happy scrappin'!  ~ Carol
